IT’S YOUR WORLD -
PROTECT IT
PROTECT IT
Your family, your home, your health, your life – put them all together and it’s your whole world. You need to keep it as safe and sound as you can. And one way to do that is to keep your home free from pest infestations. Insects play an important role in the Earth’s eco-system, but when insects invade your world they become pests. When this happens, it is time for action.
No one is more important to Black Pest Prevention than our customers. The interdependence between our customers, the health of the communities we serve, and our business success drives our commitment to sustainability and environmental leadership. In another time and place, pest management just meant the application of pesticides, whether needed or not, to eliminate pests. Over the years, pest prevention has evolved into a more precise science. Leading manufacturers and pest prevention professionals have been refining products and methods in order to eliminate targeted pests with lowest impact on humans, pets and our environment.
Remember, this is your world we’re talking about, and in your world, there are options that can benefit your family. At the top of the list is something called Black’s Integrated Pest Prevention, an environmentally sensitive “green solution” that can provide the protection you want with the earth-centered properties you need to protect your world.
WHAT IS
INTEGRATED PEST PREVENTION
INTEGRATED PEST PREVENTION
Integrated Pest Prevention (IPP) from Black Pest Prevention is the heart of any “green solution” to pest prevention issues. It is the smart choice for anyone who wants to minimize the use of pesticides in and around their home while maintaining an effective, diligent pest prevention program.
Simply put, IPP from Black Pest Prevention is an integrated, multi-faceted approach that works on a different principle than the traditional pesticide oriented pest control, which depends totally on the use of chemical applications – including products potentially dangerous to people, pets, plants, and their surroundings – to be effective. IPP from Black Pest Prevention combines prevention and monitoring techniques with a prudent approach to products in order to produce a more responsible, yet highly effective solution.
Black Pest Prevention is recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as the first pest prevention company in the Carolinas to be accepted as a Pesticide Environmental Steward under the EPA’s Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP). Black Pest Prevention is one, of only a handful of pest prevention companies in the United States to have achieved this extraordinary level of recognition.
Thomas Brennan, EPA Chief Environmental Stewardship Branch, Bio-Pesticides and Pollution Board had this to say welcoming Black Pest as a member of PESP....
| “I want to take this opportunity to welcome Black Pest as a member in the Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program. PESP is an exciting, voluntary program to reduce the risks from the use of pesticides. I am pleased that your company is taking a leadership role, along with our other members, in working with EPA on environmental stewardship. I applaud the steps your organization has already taken toward reducing the risks from the use of pesticides. To advance our common environmental goals further will require a close collaborative effort. You willingness to join PESP indicates your dedication to these goals. I look forward to working with you on the challenges that lie ahead. I am convinced that in the years to come we will point with pride to a legacy of reduced pesticide risk brought about through the cooperation among Black Pest, our other members, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.” |

Black Pest Prevention understands we all share the same responsibility to protect and conserve our precious water resources. Understanding this, Black Pest was the FIRST to introduce borates, now recognized as the standard in new home pre-treatments, to the home building industry in the Carolinas. Borates are sustainably water efficient. This allows us to meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
By using borates, Black Pest Prevention has saved over 2,000,000 gallons of our water and introduced 2,000,000 fewer gallons of pesticides into our environment, just in the last few years. Beginning in 2008, we removed all power spraying equipment from our household pest prevention fleet and replaced with backpack equipment that will reduce the amount of diluted pesticide applied in our environment by 90 percent and save 175,000 gallons of our water annually.
Black Pest Prevention was the first pest prevention company in the Carolinas to offer paperless invoicing. We can invoice securely by environmentally preferable email eliminating the need to mail paper invoices. In addition, we can securely place your information on file in our data system, not only eliminating the need to mail you a paper invoice but also the need for you to mail a payment back to us. Over the years these measures will help reduce the carbon footprint of the U.S. Postal Service. You can make a difference by signing up for these convenient services today, call and ask us about electronic invoicing.
